Doesn’t it sound just amazing to be able to take life a little easier? Less stress and more relaxation always sounds good right? We can get so caught up in our everyday life that we actually forget how to live! Today I’d like to share 10 small ways to take life easier. Try one or two, or try them all!
1 – Learn to Say No
It can be difficult letting others down but sometimes you just have to. Saying yes to everything leads to stress and less productivity for you. If you are a people pleaser, get out of that habit.
2 – Meditate
If you don’t meditate, today is a great day to start. Meditation provides many benefits including reducing stress levels and increasing clarity. Start small with just 5 minutes a day and then work up from there.
3 – Practice Mindfulness
Mindfulness is living in the moment; to notice the things around you using all of your senses. Pick something around you and focus on it. It can be a flower, or it can be a pencil on your desk. It really doesn’t matter. What color is it? What does it feel like? Try to use all of your senses.
4 – Focus on One Thing at a Time
You can take life easier if you focus on one thing at a time. Multitasking actually reduces productivity and efficiency. Plus it gives you “monkey” brain and you’ll lose the focus each task needs.
5 – Take Time To Prepare
One of the biggest reasons life always seemed so chaotic for me was my lack of preparation. I didn’t plan out my meals, I didn’t plan out my schedule and on and on. It was a crapshoot every single day and that just made things hectic. Take the time each night before bed to plan out your day ahead. Create a priority list, get your clothes ironed and ready to go, prepare your lunch and dinner.
6 – Create Daily Habits
Forming habits puts things on cruise control. Create a morning and night routine and stick with it for instance. You’ll have to think less about what you are doing.
7 – Unplug
Spend at least an hour every day unplugged from all technology. Social Media, the Internet, TV, and our phones cause sensory overload. Turn it all off and do absolutely nothing.
8 – Check Social Media and Email Once a Day
When you have to be plugged in, limit your time. Get into the habit of checking your email and social media accounts once a day. Break the obsession of looking at status updates and tweets every 5 seconds.
9 – Take Daily Walks
Taking daily walks is really just an amazing thing to do. You get fresh air, you have to to think, relax and refocus. Plus it’s extremely healthy. You can drop some serious weight just by walking 20 minutes a day.
10 – Get and Stay Organized
When our things are chaotic, we are chaotic. Spend some time getting everything organized and in their right place.
