Are you tired and fatigued all the time? If so, then you may want to try these quick tips to raise your energy levels. That is of course after you have ruled out any other medical causes with your doctor.
1 – Get Enough Rest
You knew this one was coming. We all know that we need rest but many of us fail to do it. You have to start treating sleep like we treat everything else that improves our health. If you struggle with getting enough sleep, here are a few quick tips.
- Set an alarm to go to bed. When it goes off, get your butt in bed.
- Have 30 minutes of quiet time before bed. No TV, or cell phone.
- Start a wind down routine. Do the same thing every night before bed.

2 – Take Walks Throughout The Day
Raise your energy levels by getting up and being active throughout the day. This is especially important if you sit at a desk all day and stare at a computer screen. Doing this will make your eyes tired and diminish your overall energy. I recommend getting up to walk around for at least 5 – 10 minutes in the morning and afternoon. At the very least.
3 – Stretch
If you don’t have time to get up and walk, at least stand up and do some stretching. Stretching is actually a good way to raise your energy levels because it gets your muscles and ligaments moving. Blood flows and your mind sharpens.
4 – Snack, Snack, Snack
You should always have healthy snacks throughout the day. Doing this will keep your sugar levels in check and keep your hunger at bay. The next time you need a little energy boost, eat an apple, banana or some salt free almonds. These are great healthy snacks to keep on hand.
5 – Meditate
Meditation is a great way to raise your energy levels and keep you focused. All the clutter and worries we have in our mind bog us down and keep us running on empty. Meditating at some point during the day will fill your mental tank.
6 – Listen To Some Upbeat Music
When I’m feeling run down, I like to listen to some inspiring music. Even if you are at the office you can go online to Pandora, Google Play or even YouTube to find some background music that will increase your energy.
7 – Get The Right Type Of Nutrition
Sugary treats may raise your energy levels temporarily but they will keep you feeling sluggish the rest of the day once the rush is over. Try eating more fruits, and add whole grains to your diet. Behind sleep, nutrition is probably the biggest reason you feel tired and sluggish all the time.
8 – Drink A Ton Of Water
Most people go throughout their day dehydrated. Just because you are not dying of thirst doesn’t mean your body is not starving for more liquids. When your body is not getting enough water, your organs and internal systems have to work harder. This takes up an enormous amount of physical and mental energy. To combat this, drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. More if you need to. If you are not going to the bathroom at least once every hour and a half or so, your body needs water!
Low energy levels affects most of us at some point or another. Once your doctor rules out any medical issues, try these 8 strategies to raise your energy levels.
