If you are anything like me, sometimes you wake up on the wrong side of the bed. In other words, you wake up grumpy and in a bad mood. No one wants to deal with that. Not your family, not your co-workers, not even you. If you find that you wake up and start your day in a terrible mood, then this is the article is for you. I’m going to give you 3 strategies to start your day positive.

Change Your Life

1 – Exercise

Exercise is a miracle cure when it comes to mood. Yes it’s a pain to get up early and exercise but after you get used to it, you’ll crave it. Trust me.

This is because getting your blood pumping first thing in the morning invigorates your system. It releases endorphins which instantly boosts your mood and exercise also gives you energy for your day. Which means you are less likely to suffer from that mid-morning crash which has you heading to the vending machine at work. Am I right?

Exercising in the morning will definitely help you start your day positive.

2 – Meditate

I have on many occasions waken up and my anxiety was already through the roof. Sometimes the day ahead is just going to be a beast. Are you like that at times? You wake up with lots to do? You have an important meeting with your boss? Whatever it is, the first thing we may find ourselves doing is worrying about the day ahead.

Meditation is a great way to put your mind at ease first thing in the morning. Oprah does it. So does Arianna Huffington. Maybe you should too. Just spend a few minutes every morning and quiet your mind.

If you are not used to meditating, just take it one step at a time. Try guided meditations and start off with just a few minutes a day. You can work your way up from there.

3 – Daily Affirmations

A great strategy to start your day positive is with positive affirmations. The first words out of your mouth each morning should be positive. Don’t set the day’s tone with negative words. “I hate work.” “I don’t want to get up this early.” “I’m so tired.”

Instead have an affirmation ritual and speak positive things into the Universe. “I will have a great day.” “I am in a great mood.” “Every day in every way, I’m getting better and better.” By saying positive affirmations, you are creating a positive mindset for the day. Positive thoughts attract positive circumstances.

If you find that you tend to start your day off on a sour note, use these three strategies to start your day positive. Exercise first thing. Meditate to calm your mind and prepare you for the day ahead. Say daily affirmations to create a positive mindset.
